Monrovia, Liberia-President George Weah says his visit to Nigeria was to request the Nigerian Government’s assistance to strengthen the educational sector of Liberia.
The President’s statement is contrary to speculations that his travel to Nigeria was to import 6,000 teachers to Liberia.
Following his arrival from Nigeria on Tuesday, President Weah said, his plea to the Education Ministry of Nigeria was not necessarily to bring about 6,000 teachers to Liberia.
According to him, his request made was only intended for the Nigerian Government to send educational expertise the beef up the educational sector of Liberia.
The Liberian President said the Country’s educational sector is facing a difficult situation and at such he will appeal to other countries to help improve the sector.
Commenting on other issue, President George Weah then called on the People of Sierra Leone to ensure that the holding of its Presidential election is Peaceful.
