Monrovia,Liberia-Police Inspector-General, Col Patrick Sudue has expressed open apology to the Liberian Senate for failing to consult them before lifting the ban on the plying of motorcycles to some parts of Monrovia.
Recently Col Sudue mandated Liberian commercial motorcyclists in Monrovia to ride from Red Light to ELWA Junction while allowing them to also ply Red Light to Freeport.
The action taken by the LNP led to serious jubilations by several motorcyclists while at the same time was largely condemned by Liberians in Monrovia and its environs.
Appearing at the senate Thursday over a complaint by Montserrado County Senator Geraldine Doe Sheriff, the Police Chief clarified that the LNP only lifted two of its 13 restrictions placed on the motorcyclists plying major street corners.
He further indicated that since the lifting of two of its 13 restrictions, there have been no motorcycle deaths.
He meanwhile promised to consult with the senate on further decision that will be taken on the issue of motorcycles.
