Stakeholders adopt four count resolutions on Peace and Reconciliation

Monrovia, Liberia- Several stakeholders have adopted a four count resolution for new road map of peace and reconciliation in Liberia.

The adopted resolution which was submitted to President George Weah came from the end of a two day National Peace and Reconciliation Conference held at the Monrovia City hall.

Reading the resolution following the end of the three day event, Liberia’s Peace Ambassador William Richard Tolbert III named the strengthening of the road map for peace and reconciliation in the eight counties through the TRC report.

According to Amb Tolbert, the delegates also agreed that the government mobilize funding from the county social development funds in order to implement similar road map in the remaining seven counties of Liberia.
He also indicated that the delegates also called for the speedy passage of the local governance and land rights bills before the National Legislature.

Also speaking during the adoption of the resolution, Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf commended President George Weah for getting fully involved in the strategic road map for peace and reconciliation in Liberia.

Minister Sirleaf further called for the support of the International community towards the implementation of the strategic road map for peace and reconciliation which was adopted from the end of the two day conference.
