Civil Servants reject hint of salary reduction

Monrovia-The president of the Civil Servants Association of Liberia says his institution has vowed to resist any planned decision by Finance Minister Samuel Tweh to reduce the salaries of civil servants in the country.

Moibah Johnson told OK FM news in Monrovia Wednesday that it is unfortunate for the Finance Minister to make such assertion when the plight of civil servants is being ignored by central government.

The response by the CSA President followed a hint from Finance Minister Samuel Tweh for a possible cut in their pay, saying their salaries should rather be increased

Johnson wants the finance minister focus his attention in addressing the huge salary disparity in the Liberian government rather than slashing salaries of civil servants.

He however maintained the need for the increment in salaries for civil servants in Liberia.
