USAID Launches development matters TV & Radio programs in Liberia

Monrovia-The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has officially launched its Development Matters TV and Radio program in Liberia.

The USAID development Matters TV and Radio program is aimed at fostering informed debate about Liberia’s Development challenges.

It also seeks to enable stakeholders’ engagement on development related issues in order to maximize the impact of development interventions on the Country’s population.

At the Lunch in Monrovia Wednesday, Anthony Chan, USAID Mission Director said for Liberia to remedy its poverty situation, the country must grow its economy and become more efficient.

According to Anthony Chan, with the help of international partners, it is time that the Liberia brings together the requisite knowledge and skills required to tackle challenges of poverty in the Country.

The USAID mission Director wants the Liberian Government create means for citizens engagement with their leaders through productive dialogue about the Country’s growth and development.

Also Speaking, Internews Chief of Party, Jan MacArthur said the Development Matters TV and Radio program contributes to the development of the media.

Madam MacArthur added that using the media for development would create public space for citizens to engage in national dialogue for the good of the Country.

The Launch of the USAID Development matters TV and Radio program which was held Wednesday at the ICampus on Carey Street in Monrovia brought together media practitioners, Lawyers, and other national and international dignitaries.
