Monrovia-Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor has called on Liberian students to take seriously their education, if they are to be successful.

Speaking during the weekend at the first commencement exercises of the ELWA Academy High School in Paynesville, VP Howard-Taylor called on students to brave the storm and embrace the high value education carries.
In her Keynote Address, VP Howard-Taylor cautioned students not to get stuck in looking back, but commit their focus on moving ahead, emphasizing that nothing comes easily, for which they should always be focused.
She noted that regardless of the sacrifices and challenges they may face, they should resist the thought of giving up on their endeavors.
Madam Howard-Taylor, according to a release from the Office of the Vice President also warned against vices that could derail the progress of the students.
She cited the act of students trading sex for grades, as one of the vices that must be discouraged, recommending that those perpetrating such destructive practices should be punished to serve as a deterrent to would be violators.
Madam Howard-Taylor also warned parents in the habit of offering bribes to induce school authorities and teachers to give undeserved consideration to their children to desist.
