LFA announces date for National League

Monrovia-The Liberia Football Association has announced the commencement date for this year’s national league.

 

According to a release from the LFA, the  league will officially kickoff with the Super Cup Matches taking place at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Saturday’ August 25, 2018.

The Super Matches will feature Earth Angels battling Senior Pro in women football while champions LISCR FC will meet SRIMEX FC to close Saturday’s action.

The official national league for 2018 will begin on Sunday August 26, 2018 when the fixture is released.

Meanwhile, a workshop for clubs taking part in this year’s national football championship takes place this Saturday August 18, 2018.

The focus of the one day workshop will be the four pillars of football which range from administration, coaching, sports medicine and referees.

The decision to begin the league was reached on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at a meeting held with stakeholders of the Liberia Football Association.

In a related development, 80 football referees have been selected to officiate in the 2018 national league.
