Monrovia-In Maryland County, a 35 year old woman has admitted to killing her 13 year old daughter on suspicion of being a witch.

Oretha Thompson told residents of Cornokele Town in Pleebo District that she used rat poison to kill her daughter after the child was accused of killing people through witchcraft activities in the town and surroundings.
The 35 year old mother who expressed regrets for her action said she killed her daughter as a result of shame the family bears.
Oretha, the mother of five, has been charged with murder by the Liberian National Police and sent to the Gedeltable community court in Pleebo Sodocan district pending trial.
