President Weah’s submission comes after granting an emergency session of the legislature pursuance to article 32 of the Liberian Constitution.

Recently, the Legislature adjourned following the climax of its first session which witnessed an extension by two weeks.

The House’s Deputy Chief Clerk, Sayfurh Geeplay reading the president’s proclamation pronounced that the emergency session of the legislature will last for at least a month.

However, the agenda items including the president’s communication prohibiting tenure of Public Officials within the Executive branch is yet to be deliberated by that august body.

It can be recalled; Former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf craved the legislature indulgence to grant tenure positions to certain members within the Executive Branch of Government.

Following the transition, some appointees of President George Weah witnessed struggles to assume their respective positions as those positions were tenure related.
