MONROVIA: The lead advocate for victims of the Multi National credit union Bankruptcy in Bomi County has threatened a lawsuit against the Community Banking institution.
Roosevelt Tuley said there has been series of meeting aim at finding an amicable solution in putting pressure on the management of the credit union to restitute the findings owe the ordinary people in the county.
He noted that there has been official communication sent to Governor Nathaniel Patray of the central Bank of Liberia to quickly intervene into the situation, considering the month of December as an ultimatum to the CBL intervention.
He said if all of the legal engagements are done with and there is no redress, lawsuit awaits the Multi National Credit Union in January 2019.
Tuley believes that the action exhibited by the credit Union Management has the propensity to instill poverty on those that have saved with the union over the years as a tracker down effect to their lives.
Meanwhile, since the multi-National credit union prematurely closedown their activity, Bomi County Attorney Jumah Karnely has for the first time commented on the matter.
In a Telephone conversation Tuesday, the county chief prosecutor vowed to also take lawsuit against the credit union.
He said it is the obligation of the government to do all so that the citizens’ money can be restituted.
It has been series of calls from citizens and institution that were saving with the credit union, for the restitution of their monies since they left unceremoniously in 2016 but to no avail.
