Mr. Pattern was recently commissioned by President George Weah to serve as Ambassador to the United States two days following his nomination.

He was not confirmed by the Liberian Senate.

In his communication to United States Ambassador near the Capital Monrovia, Christine Elders, Representative Kolubah said he was bringing to the attention of the Ambassador of what he termed as a fake commissioning of Mr. Patten.

The Montserrado District # 10 lawmaker said the action of the Liberian leaderviolates Article 54b of the Liberian Constitution which mandates the president to nominate and with the consent of the Senate appoints Ambassadors and other officials of government.

Yekeh said the people and government of the United States of America have invested so much in the sustainability of the rule of law in Liberia, and as such the president’s action undermines the effort of the U. S. government and Liberia’s governance.

Representative Kolubah in the letter, appealed to the U.S. Ambassador to deny the credentials of the Ambassador Designate until he goes through formal confirmation in accordance with law.
