President George Weah accompanied by a host of senior government officials Tuesday signed the book of condolence for fallen Grand Cape Mount County Senator Edward Dagoseh.
The officials of government that signed the book of condolence alongside President Weah are Vice President Jewel Howard Taylor; House Speaker Dr. Bofalh Chambers; Chief Justice Francis Korkpor; and Senate Pro-Temp Albert Chea.
Others include members of the Legislature, Associate Justices of the Supreme Court, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, heads of international establishments and autonomous agencies, bureaus and commissions.
Religious leaders, chiefs and elders as well as other sympathizers were present on Tuesday to sign the book of condolence for the fallen Grand Cape Mount lawmaker.
The late senator Dagoseh died on the 2nd of May 2019 at the John F. Kenned memorial Hospital in Sinkor following long period of illness.
The late Grand Cape Mount county lawmaker was elected to the legislature in October, 2011 on the ticket of the former governing Unity Party.
Before his death, Dagoseh served as chairman on the Public Accounts Committee of the Legislature.
The late Senator Dagoseh was one of eight UP senators suspended for reportedly voting to remove then Associate Justice, Kabineh Ja’neh from the Supreme Court Bench.
Minutes following the signing of the book of condolence, President Weah said he was deeply troubled over the death of his friend who he had known since his days at the Ministry of Youth and Sports up to the Senate, while describing his passing as a great loss to the country.
He treated everyone with respect. I remember when he came down to the Executive Mansion and we talk. I am proud of his services to the Country. I mean we are all hurt.
My Prayers are with family members of the late honorable, as we all work towards sustaining them.
For his part, Maryland County Senator Gbleh-bo Brown described his late colleague as a man with humble heart and has left a huge vacuum at the Senate.
