Watanga FC leads LFA 1st Division

Paynesville, Montserrado – Watanga FC have moved top of the Orange First Division League table with 32points following a 2-1 win over Freeport FC on Wednesday at the SKD practice pitch. Their talisman Emmanuel Sieh was again at his best as he scored twice to boost their title chances.

With nine wins, five draws, and 14 games played, Coach Cooper Sannah’s team has yet to experience a setback this season. Unfortunately, LISCR FC, the reigning champions, had a rough day as they lost 3-1 to Paynesville FC, a freshly promoted first division team. With 29 points from the same amount of games played, they are now in second position after the loss, while Paynesville FC is now in third place with 27 points. Globa Pharma’s 3-1 victory over Bea Mountain at Tusa Field on Wednesday was the most unexpected development.

Every season, the Gold lads are considered strong favorites to win the championship, but they haven’t yet demonstrated their eligibility. They have 25 points after 14 games, which puts them in sixth place, 7 points behind Watanga FC, who are leading the table.

Once again, coach Jasper Benfleix’s troops fell short of expectations as Nimba Kwado had to settle for a 2-2 draw against LPRC Oilers at home. With 17 points from 14 games, the Nimba County-based team is in seventh place.

The Rollers are 5th place in the table after 13 league matches while the Yellow boys are battling relegation. They are 12th place with 13points and two points from safety.
