Determine Girls Dominates Shaita Angels in 2-1 win in Orange Cup.

Monrovia Liberia – The holders were down by a goal to nil in the first half when Miatta Morris put the Angels ahead from the penalty spot, but the 2nd half strikes from their star players, ensured a win and prove a chance of qualifying to the semifinals.

Margaret Stewart and Elizabeth Tamba handed Determine Girls a 2-1 first-leg advantage in the quarterfinals of the Orange Cup over Shaita Angels in the women’s category of the 2023/2024 edition at ATS on Wednesday.

Coach Patience Gweh Girls also defeated Shaita Angels 2-1 in the grand final of the last edition to complete their double.

Overperforming Liberia’s female champions also defeated Shaita Angels both home and away in this edition of the LFA Women’s League, 4-0 in the first leg and 3-2 in the return fixture.

The Super Cup, a customary competition held annually prior to the commencement of a new league season, saw Determine Girls defeat the Angles 2-1.

Due to a significant points differential with Determine Girls, Shaita Angels’ chances of winning this season remain slim.

They trail Determine Girls, who have 39 points, by 11 points in the Women’s League title race after 13 games played.
