VP Koung Meets Top Nigerian Authorities

IN NIGERIA, VP KOUNG REPRESENTS PRES. BOAKAI

Monrovia, Liberia –
The vice president of Liberia, Jeremiah Kpan Koung, has concluded his official visit to the Federal Republic of Nigeria. On February 14, 2024, Vice President Koung left for Nigeria on behalf of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., after His Excellency Douye Diri, the new governor of Bayelsa State, held his inaugural ceremonies.

The Vice President met with a number of high-ranking Nigerian government officials during his visit in order to improve bilateral ties between Nigeria and Liberia, according to the vice president’s office.

Hon. Koung and Governor Diri had a conversation outside of the inaugural ceremonies about potential petroleum industry partnerships between Bayelsa State and to entice potential investors.

Additionally, according to the Vice President, Liberia and Bayelsa State may maximize their respective economies’ potential in the fields of agriculture and fishing by creating new avenues for cooperation.

Vice President Koung conversed with Vice President Kashim Shettima of Nigeria as well.

Recognizing the importance of building solid economic ties, the two leaders reiterated their resolve to fortify the long-standing diplomatic ties between their respective countries and peoples.

His Excellency Olusegun Obasanjo, the former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Vice President Koung had a productive conversation.
