Liberia’s Information Minister, Jerolinmek Piah, Pledge to turn National Broadcaster ELBC into Radio that caters to all Liberians.

Monrovia, Liberia – The recently appointed minister of information, Jerolinmek Piah, promises to transform the national broadcaster, ELBC, into a radio station that serves all Liberians.

On Monday, March 4, 2024, during his presentation on the ELBC radio morning program, Minister Piah stressed that the station’s main objective is to serve the general population, and not a specific segment of society.

Mr. Piah asserted that the State radio ought to act as a bridge between the opposition and the ruling parties, pointing out that this will advance national development and peace.

Minister Jerolinmek Piah cautioned journalists, particularly talk show hosts, to analyze important national issues ethically.

Minister Piah emphasized the need to remove any political content from Liberian media, adding that doing so will foster national unity.
