Monrovia-A war of words has ensued between two prominent Liberian politicians over a reported misunderstanding between a man identified as Kelvin D.J. Mattaldi and Deputy MICAT Boss Eugene Fahngon.

Reports say Mr. Mattaldi who is also the Media Officer in the office of Representative Edwin Snow photographed Minister Eugene Fahngon allegedly dancing with a girl at a local night club.
The reports detail that following the photograph, Minister Fahngon immediately ordered that the photos be deleted.
According to the report, the situation witnessed the intervention of state security officers, thus landing the mater at a police depot in Monrovia.
A huge outburst arose between Representative Edwin Snow and Minister Eugene Fahngon when the lawmaker demanded the immediate release of Journalist Kelvin D.J. Mattaldi at the zone 3 police depot.
Minister Eugene Fahngon and Representative Edwin Snow were seeing in a live Facebook video throwing jabs at each other.
The video which went viral on social media also grabbed the attention of some Liberian Facebook users with many terming the exchanges between the state men as childish.
Representative Snowe was much moderate, but Minister Fahngon was seen insulting and nearly assaulting the lawmaker.
Meanwhile, Montserrado District 8 Representative Acarous Gray has frowned on the situation and urged the two statesmen to smoke piece pipe for once.
Gray noted that such exchanges do not auger well for the forward march of the Weah administration, while promising to restore calm in the matter.
Several Liberians have been giving mixed views since the incident.
Liberian Journalist and Lawyer, Lamii Kpargoi in a social media post, said if there’s no expectation of privacy, anyone is allowed to take pictures in that space.
“Many people in this country don’t seem to know that when they are photographed in a public place, no crime has been committed. The police should also not have entertained such complaints’, Lamii said.
Minister Fahngon could also be held in legislative contempt.
Contempt of the legislature refers to the open disrespect for the legislature.
It is also a conduct exhibiting such disrespect for a legislative body as to impair its usefulness or conduct impeding the body or a committee thereof in performing legislative functions.
The behavior of Fahngon also violates section 11.3 of the Code of Conduct which frowns on unethical and unbecoming behavior such as the use of rude, abusive and obscene language.
