More than ninety (90) Liberians in the employ of Equatorial Palm Oil are expected face redundancy in the coming days, due to a longstanding land dispute between two districts.
The dispute is said to be between Sanquine and Tarjuowon Statutory Districts in Sinoe County.
The Sustainability Coordinator of the Equatorial Palm Oil Company in Sinoe County, Barcus Wiah told OKFM contact that the decision is being reached as the result of the failure of the County Administration to intervene in resolving the matter between the two districts.
Barcus Wiah said, the company has resolved to carry out the redundancy and retirement of the workers due to the dispute.
According to our contact, the citizens are calling on the legislative caucus of Sinoe County to intervene in discouraging the company from proceeding with the execution of its plan.
The Equatorial Palm Oil Company has been operating in the County since 2009.
