Gambi U-20 settled with Guinea in 2018 WAFU clash

Monrovia-Gambia and Guinea settled to a 1-1 draw in their 2018 Wafu Zone A U-20 Nation Cup clash   at the SKD Sports Complex on Wednesday.

It was Fode Kebe’s free kick that placed Guinea in the lead in the 26th minute but was unable to maintain the lead as Adama Jammeh level things for the Gambia in the 31st minute.

The Gambians sit on Group B log with a single point tied with Guinea while Senegal sits at the bottom of the table.

In the first encounter, Mali U-20 squad was too strong for Senegal as they whipped the U-20 team of Senegal 3-1 to sit at the top of the Group B table with three points.

Lasana Ndiaye scored the 2nd and 3rd goals for Mali while Handing Frame opened the account for the young Malian side. Senegal’s lone goal was scored by Amadou Santa. Mali temporarily heads Group B.

The competition continue today at the same venue as Liberia who fell prey to Cote d’Ivoire in the tournament opener will meet Guinea Bissau in the last encounter while Sierra Leone battles Cote d’Ivoire in the day’s first match.
