Announcing the appointment, BYC-II president Nathaniel Sherman said: “Chebli is quite simply the best coach available in the country today.

He has won hearts of the fans and inspired players at every club he coached and, of course, he knows the league very well, so it is great to have him at the best club.

Sherman continued: “I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome him to BYC Football; his track record of success is ideal to take the club forward.”

Sam Chebli said: “To become BYC-II’s coach is a special honor in the game. It is a club I’ve known and admired in Liberia. There’s a magic and a romance about it which no other club can match.

“I have always felt attracted to Blue Field; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career, and I have always enjoyed a relationship with the BYC fans. I’m looking forward to be their coach and enjoying their magnificent support in the upcoming league.”
