Paul Jamaal King Takes First Place in LTF Election

Paynesville, Montserrado County – Paul Jamaal King was chosen President of the Liberia Tennis Federation (LTF) by stakeholders on Saturday, January 13, 2024. As the first elected LTF president since 2014, Paul Jamaal King triumphed over Patrick Sama and Councilman John Puieyoe on Saturday.

He defeated his closest competitors with 21 votes, Patrick Sama with 20, and Councilman John Dexter Puiyoe with 19 votes. As vice president, Mr. Charles Lawrence prevailed on a white ballot.

In the election for the Secretary General post, Mr. Daniel Dean defeated Mr. Lekpele M. Nyamalon by 30 to 24 votes.

The jobs of treasurer and assistant secretary were vacant. The new LTF leadership will be in charge of the federation for a two-year period.

With Adophus Wade’s leadership term ending in 2016, conflict has put a halt to both the LTF league and election operations.

Reviving or reviving the tennis sport is a major responsibility for the new leadership team.

Tennis stakeholders are highly optimistic that the election of a new leadership will revitalise the game.
