Monrovia, Liberia – President George Weah has officially dedicated the refurbished D. Twe Sports Pitch in the Borough of New Kru Town. President Weah revealed that the D. Twe field is one of the many football fields he used played on when he was a competitive player while addressing reporters on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, during the dedication ceremony.
The Liberian leader expressed his excitement at the state of the D. Twe field, saying that it always brings him joy to see the community grow where he used to play football competitively.
The Liberian president, whose term of office ends in less than a week, urged the people of New Kru Town and the surrounding area to always keep the pitch clean for the good of everybody.
President Weah praised the Minister of State without Portfolio for overseeing the project successfully, revealing that the D. Twe Sports Pitch renovation was also a consequence of Representative Dixon Seboe’s plea from Montserrado County electoral district #16.
Concurrently, the Liberian leader committed to building basketball and volleyball courts to be added to the D. Tweh field for public use.
Representative Dixon Seboe, the governor of the Borough, and other high-ranking government officials were among the citizens and stakeholders that attended the dedication event.
