Monrovia, Liberia – President Weah’s communication advisor labels the recent burning of public infrastructure as suspicious, while a massive fire disrupts the Ministry of Transport’s regular operations.
On Monday, January 8, 2024, firemen from the Liberia National Fire and Rescue Service battled a dense cloud of smoke that obscured the Ministry of Transport and hindered regular business operations.
The cause of the smoke remained unclear, but employees from the Ministry of Transport and other road users could not access the facilities.
Lemue Kleme, the chief of communications for the Ministry of Transport, stated to the local radio station OK FM that the issue started early on Monday in the basement but was fixed by the National Fire Service becoming involved.
