Monrovia, Liberia – Upjit Singh Sachdeva, an Indian businessman, has been recognised by several Weala, Margibi County residents for his many selfless acts of humanitarianism throughout Liberia, particularly in Margibi County.
The residents stated that although Mr. Sachdeva, also known as Jeety, has had success in his commercial endeavours, he has never forgotten the value of giving back to the community. For this reason, it is important to recognise and honour his charitable endeavours, which deserve recognition.
As a sign of his dedication to improving Liberian society, Jeety and his crew fed over 3,000 children on Christmas Day, earning him the honour.
Along with providing approximately 1,381 prisoners at the Monrovia Central Prison (South Beach) with hot meals, water, and soft drinks, Jeety also donates extra plates and spoons. Among the detainees are some underprivileged young people from Monrovia known as “Zogoes.”
Remarking during the gowning of Mr. Sachdeva, Cinta Township Commissioner Roland Johnson said their decision is a demonstration of the good they continued to receive from the Indian business tycoon in their community.
Commissioner Johnson, speaking on behalf the citizens added that their decision is in recognition of the fact that Jeety’s philanthropic efforts have not gone unnoticed by them as direct beneficiaries of his kindness.
Johnson noted that Jeety’s contributions to the welfare of the less fortunate and prisoners in Monrovia, as well as the people of Weala and the country at large have already earned him respect and admiration from both locals and authorities across Margibi County.
In addition to thanking Jeety and his team for building the Jeety Rubber LLC factory in Weala and installing running water, the Commissioner, whose face was beaming with happiness, mentioned that the facility has already started to strengthen the local economy and create thousands of jobs for residents of Weala and the surrounding areas.
He praised the government of Liberia for fostering an atmosphere that encourages investment, saying, “The Jeety Rubber LLC facility is a statement of his love for this country and its people.”
“Hence, we from this community want to thank you Jeety and we love and appreciate all that you are doing for our country and its citizens.”
In response, Jeety expressed gratitude to the populace for their support and kindness, underscoring the importance of celebrating and providing for those he saw as the nation’s future leaders.
He also revealed that he and his team are dedicated to making sure that the youngsters have smiles on their faces on every significant occasion, acknowledging that Christmas may be a trying time for those who do not have parental supervision or who live in bad situations.
Jeety and the crew also planned a wonderful children’s party, making sure that every child in attendance felt the love and joy of Christmas, in order to make sure the kids experienced a glimpse of hope and happiness throughout the festive season.
Jeety organised the celebration with gifts, entertainment, and decorations in cooperation with the county local administration and volunteers. The children’s happiness and smiles were evidence of the positive effects Jeety’s actions had on their lives.
Jeety’s honour is a tribute to his altruism and commitment to the well-being of others. He has demonstrated throughout the year his profound comprehension of the difficulties encountered by certain Liberians, as evidenced by his steadfast support for inmates and children on Thanksgiving.
