President Boakai Applauds Vatican on Independence Anniversary

Monrovia, Liberia, RELEASE – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has sent a congratulatory message to His Holiness Pope Francis as the Vatican City State, the Apostolic Episcopal See of the Bishop of Rome, celebrates its Independent Day on February 11, 2024.

In his message to His Holiness Pope Francis, President Boakai extended sincere congratulations on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Liberia and in his own name.

According to a Foreign Ministry release, the Liberian leader stressed that as ExCathedra and the Universal Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Roman Catholic Church, they commemorate the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Vatican City State.

President Boakai noted with pleasure that the partnership between Liberia and the Vatican has accrued enormous benefits from collaborating in sectors like social services, health, and education.

He added, “I pray and hope that the two nations will work together to promote world peace and security for all of humanity as the Vatican celebrates this remarkable day.”
