Monrovia, Liberia – Representative Yekeh Kolubah of Montserrado County District #10 is advocating for President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s removal from the ruling Unity Party.
Speaking during a press conference on Monday, February 5, 2024, at his Capitol Building office, Representative Kolubah claimed that if the party’s nominee continues to represent the ruling class, it will destroy the party.
The District Ten Lawmaker described the UP political leader as a complete embarrassment to the party, stating the UP’s standard bearer is allegedly insensitive to the plight of the Liberian people.
Representative Kolubah claimed that President Boakai lied to the Liberian people during the campaign when he promised equal county’s representation at the executive.
As per his statement, President Boakai’s recent appointments have gone against the promises made during the 2023 campaign. He claimed that President Boakai has now turned into a major mistake for the party and the nation as a whole.
“The Boakai I supported and voted for in 2017 and of recent is not the Boakai now. Imagine people who suffered behind him, including Mark Jabateh, Melvin Cephas, and others, are no longer seen today. This is unfair. We travel through out Rivercess, Bassa, and our motorcycle even feel while campaigning for President Boakai. All I want is for President Boakai to do the right thing and not do the same old thing that we preached against former President George Weah. I did not beg anyone to vote for me and those of you who are making threatening remarks against me came by yourselves to vote for me because you saw my stand as an opposition.”
The District Ten Lawmaker stated at the same time that he does not want Job, but his advocacy is about the people’s interests and not his own, as others may think.”My children were in expansive schools before I came into government.”I had properties before becoming representative of District Ten.”
He at the same time promised to remain vocal and speak truth to power until the Liberian people get what they deserve. Adding that his recent stand is due to the manner and form in which President Boakai is wrongfully proceeding.
