Nonstop Protest at Monrovia Central Prison Prevents Varlee Telleh from Testifying

Capitol Hill, Monrovia – Varlee Telleh, a witness in the current murder trial of former Chief Justice Musu Scott and several family members, had his testimony interrupted by persistent protest activity at the Monrovia Central Prison on Monday, December4, 2023.

Criminal Court “A” summoned Telleh to testify regarding a phone number that was allegedly in use between February 21 and February 25, 2023.

On Monday, December 4, 2023, the MCC Deputy Chief of Security made an appearance in the Temple of Justice, accompanied by Cllr Samuel Pearson, the City Corporation’s attorney.

Before the MCP workers interrupted, Talleh was first transported to the Montserrado County Attorney’s office and then carried down to the sheriff’s office to await his qualification to take the witness stand.
