Monrovia, Liberia – Ahead of his first significant assignment, the 2025 AFCON preliminary qualifiers, newly appointed head coach Mario Marinica has gotten right to work.
In order to support him locally, Marinica has chosen goalie trainer Chris Wesseh and coach Kelvin Sebwe.
For the Lone Star’s next two games, the pair will stand in for each other. Assisting coaches Ronald D. Moroka and Clwyd Jones, together with fitness instructor Chikondi Mandalasi, round up his technical crew.
Since his arrival in Liberia, Marinica and his assistant, Clwyd, have been gathering information, watching league games and test matches, and monitoring players.
Marinica has been able to identify a number of players who will be joined by players nominated by various teams in the Orange First and Second Divisions, as well as the technical committee.
He will announce his provisional 30-member local squad list next week for training camp.
Liberia will face Djibouti in the preliminary round of the 2025 AFCON on a home and away basis during the FIFA window between March 20 and 26, 2024. Liberia will travel to Djibouti for the first leg.
