Speaker Chambers descends on CDC for ignoring his legal challenge with NEC

Monrovia, Liberia – The speaker of the House of Representative of the Republic of Liberia, Bhofal Chambers has frowned on alleged decision by his party, the Coilation for Democrat Change (CDC), to remain silent amid the ongoing legal battle arising from the just ended October 10, 2023 elections in his discussion with the media.

Ever since the elections on October 10, 2023, Speaker Chambers has refused to accept the results, which indicated that Anthony Williams, his main opponent, had won the popular vote.

Addressing scores of legislative reporters on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, the outgoing speaker added that he also felt betrayed by the outgoing ruling establishment, which has not aided him in his legal pursuit, but decided to nominate Deputy Speaker Fonati Kofa as the party’s choice for the speakership.

Speaker Chambers has fought the ruling of the National Election Commission since the election result was declared in favor of the winner, Anthony Williams, who had always challenged him in the electoral process.
