UP-led Gov’t Raises concerns with Weah Administration over reported delay of Funds for smooth transition

Monrovia, Liberia – Concerns regarding the purported hold-up in the release of monies intended to facilitate a seamless transition have been brought up with the George Weah administration by the newly elected Unity Party-led government.

According to Unity Party Secretary General Amos Tweh, the transition process is being hampered by a lack of cars, inadequate lodging for guests, and delayed financial check delivery.

He stated that in spite of the difficulties, the Inaugural team will not waver in its various endeavors to guarantee the President and Vice President-elect’s seamless induction on Monday.

According to Tweh, several African leaders from the ECOWAS region are expected to attend Monday’s inaugural event. He added that, US government dignitaries are expected for Joseph Boakai’s inauguration on Monday.

In addition, intercession prayers will start this Friday, January 19,2024, at the Benson Street Mosque. On Saturday, there will be an agriculture fair at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, and on Sunday, January 20, 2024, there will be a church service at the Effort Baptist Church. A musical concert will take place at the SKD sports complex in Paynesville.
