Foreign Minister Nyanti Attends AU 44th Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Monrovia, Liberia – Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Madam Sara Beysolow Nyanti, is in Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, to attend the 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council and will represent President Joseph Nyuma Boakia at the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State, as Head of the Liberian delegation.

Minister Nyanti, who departed the country on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, is among African Ministers of Foreign Affairs and dignitaries from across the African continent.

The 44th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council will take place at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on February 14–15, 2024, according to a dispatch from the Foreign Ministry.

Reports from the ministerial meeting held by the African Union Commission during the period under review will be adopted by the African Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

Concurrently, the dates of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government are set for February 17–18, 2024.

A number of African leaders are traveling to Addis Ababa in preparation for the 37th Ordinary Session of the African Union’s Heads of State and Government, which is scheduled to begin on February 17, 2024.

Leaders and senior government officials of Libya, Algeria, Angola, Djibouti, Liberia, South Sudan, Namibia, Benin, Sierra Leone, and South Africa arrived here on Wednesday.
The delegations are represented by their respective presidents, vice presidents, prime ministers, and foreign ministers.

The delegations were accorded warm welcome by Ethiopian top government officials and AU Commissioner upon their arrival at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airports.
