Miatta Fahnbullah Accuses GSA, MOFA, and 55th Legislature of causing National Shame

Monrovia, Liberia – The Head of the January 22, 2024, JNB-JKK inaugural committee Miatta Fahnbullah on Thursday, justified the National embarrassment caused by the committee; she blamed members of the 55th Legislature, authority at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Services Agency (GSA) Director Mary Broh.

In her remarks on Thursday, January 25, 2024, during the Ministry of Information, Cultural Affairs, and Tourism’s regular press briefing in Monrovia, Miatta Fahnbullah stated that the team’s failure was attributed to the subcommittee members’ lack of corporations.

Madam Fahnbullah contended that no one person can be held responsible for the embarrassing and shameful way in which the inaugural ceremony of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung was handled.

She insisted that the budget allocated for the ceremony by the Liberian government was never under the jurisdiction of the first subcommittee.

Madam Fahnbullah added that the authority at the Foreign Ministry had signed for the six hundred and fifty thousand US dollars that the government’s Transitional Team had pledged.

She asserted that the joint presidential transition team subcommittee had informed her that the legislature and the GSA had never approved her request to use the pavilion. While describing the 2024 inauguration event as a complete humiliation, she further said that President Joseph Nyuma Boakai needs to take action because her reputation has been damaged in the nation.

Madam Fahnbullah charged that officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were undermining the procedure, which was designed to oversee the service at the church as well as the inauguration program.
