Monrovia- OK FM has gathered that patients attending the Government Referral Hospital in Bong County are normally recommended to commercial drug stores to purchase prescribed medication due to the lack of essential drugs at the Hospital.

Several patients often complain of not receiving proper medication, but are often told by nurses to purchase medication from nearby medicine stores.

Dr. Jefferson Sibley, the Medical Director of the Phebe Hospital also complained of many challenges faced by the institution.

Dr. Sibley named among other things, the lack of stable electricity due to inadequate supply of gasoline and the lack of medical supplies as challenges impeding the smooth operation of the facility.

It can be recalled months back, the Phebe Hospital in Bong County closed down as a result of some financial obligation with a fuel company and the inadequate medical supplies to run the facility.

The Phebe Hospital in Suakoko District, Bong County is a referral health facility that caters to patients being transferred from Nimba, Lofa among other Counties in Liberia.

Reports of inadequate Medical Supplies and other key challenges have reportedly been impeding normal Health delivery Services at the entity for several months.

Many residents in Bong County are appealing to Government through the Ministry of Health to restore some sanity at the Phebe Hospital in Suakoko district.
