Authorities of the Liberia National Police have also warned traffic police officers against enriching themselves at the expense of the LNP.

Alphanso Bindah, LNP Chief of Traffic, warned officers not to compromise cases as there has been a massive reduction in the issuance of tickets to motorists who violate the Vehicle and Traffic Laws of Liberia.

Bindah sounded the warning during the opening ceremony of a one –day deliberation on the traffic laws of Liberia held at the LNP Training Academy in Paynesville.

The LNP Assistant Commissioner of Traffic said reduction of new traffic violation tickets given to traffic police officers is in line with the government’s pro poor agenda.

He cautioned LNP officers against interpreting the laws because they are not lawyers but can only explain the traffic laws violated by motorists.
