Violent youths disrupt Rep.Vamuyan Corneh’s legislative report ceremony

Report by Winston Blyden_blydenwinston123@gmail.com

MONROVIA: While delivering his legislative report to his constituents on Sunday, February 3, 2020, Montserrado County District #14 Representative Abraham Vamuyan Corneh came under serious attack by youths of the district, thus resulting into serious stone throwing.

The incident occurred minutes after summarizing his annual report to his constituents.

Representative Corneh requested for his constituents to ask him six questions, but some members of the Doe Community backed by their ring leader, Melvin Brown, of the CDC Youth league felt disenchanted and began to throw chairs at supporters of the Montserrado County District 13 lawmaker.

Hence, the annual report did not end as the young people and those loyal to Representative Corneh resulted into serious stone-throwing and fist fight that left some residents seriously wounded and some homes destroyed.

The Montserrado county district #14 Representative was later rescued and forced out of the hall through the help of security and other loyalists.

Representative Corneh has vowed to do a formal complaint to the executive committee of the CDC over the action against him by the youth league chairman that led to the disruption of his annual report.

“We usually give report to our people. We tell them what had happen and what we will do next. Base upon that, I deemed it necessary today to give my legislative report to my district citizens.

But, while we were there, the meeting was interrupted by Melvin Brown, who is the Chairman of the CDC Youth league in the district, on the order of the CDC district coordinator Myer Bedell. This is not the first time, neither the second.

As far as am concern, I will do a formal complain to the CDC executives, informing them about the action by their CDC Youth league chairmen and other supporters.”

Some residents of the district have been expressing serious disappointment for the disruption of the gathering.

Meanwhile the Coalition for Democratic Change is yet to respond to the alleged action taken by one of its youth league chair.
