Group of Bassa Citizens Resist Rep. Yekeh Kolubah in Buchanan City

Group of Grand Bassa citizens on Sunday resisted the presence of Montserrado County representative Yekeh Kolubah in Buchanan City, from mobilizing citizens to protest on June 7, 2019.

The group of Bassa citizens reportedly chanted slogans “We don’t want War Honorable Yekeh Kolubah please leave our County”.

Report suggests that  as part of his recent county tour, the Montserrado district 10 law maker had gone to Grand Bassa to mobilize citizens for the plan June 7 protest; a statement representative Kolubah has denied.

The report details that after few minutes of dramatic scene at Hotel Buchanan, involving the citizens and representative, the lawmaker was later escorted by armed police officers back to Monrovia.

According to Representative Yekeh Kolubah, his presence in Buchanan during the weekend was on the order of Senator Youngblee Karnga-Lawrence, and not for the mobilization of protesters.

Meanwhile, representative Kolubah has accused Grand Bassa Superintendent Janjay Baikpeh of masterminding the group of citizens against him.

Representative Kolubah further threatened that superintendent Baikpeh will pay for the disgraceful action against him.

However, Superintendent Janjay Baikpeh has denied the allegation made by representative Kolubah.

Superintendent stated that he was not even aware of the Montserrado lawmaker’s presence in the County.
