Monrovia: The Liberia Anti Corruption Commission has taken aback on comment made by Solicitor General, Counselor Syrenius Cephas, referring to the LACC as set of stupid people who do not know what they are doing, during a local radio top show call in program over the weekend.
According to the a release issued over the weekend, the LACC said Counselor Cephas’ response to why he has not declared his assets as evidenced from the listing published by the commission was out of order.
The release quotes that the commission sees such comment from a senior government official as unethical and unprofessional, and violates section 4.3, entitled: maintaining dignity of public service.
According to section 3.4, all public officials and employees of government shall exhibit good conduct at all times ,both at work and off duty ,he or she shall be honest faithful and just and shall not act in a manner against the honor or dignity of the public service .
Meanwhile the commission reiterates the compliance to section 10.1 of the code of conduct is required by law and not by choice of any public official, noting that the commission calls on those who have not declared to do so in keeping with law.
