Pro-bono forensic investigators arrived in Liberia to recover US$4.6 billion

Liberia’s solicitor general Cllr. Syrenus Cephas has disclosed that a team of forensic financial investigators, auditors and Assets Intelligence Officers has started arriving in Liberia to assist in the recovery of 4.6 billon United States dollars believed to be stolen by some current and past officials of Government.

Speaking to OK News Sunday, August 18, Cllr. Syrenus Cephas said the professional forensic financial investigators, auditors and Asset Intelligence Officers are drawn from London, Israel and the United States of America.

Cllr. Cephas stated that the team of experts is coming on the invitation of the Liberian government, adding that the experts have agreed to recover the country’s stolen funds on a pro-bono basis.

According to Cllr. Cephas, the team is expected to arrive with sophisticated equipment that would detest any wrong information provided by an individual that is investigated.

He said upon their arrival, the team of experts will work along with the Assets Investigation Restitution and Recovery Team for the establishment of two offices to be named as the Liberia Recovery Office, situated in Switzerland and the United States of America.

The Liberian Solicitor General made the statement at programs marking the induction ceremony for members of the board of trustees of the Lakpazee Community Church in Monrovia.

They will be arriving tonight and tomorrow, some will arrive. They have being brought in by the invitation of Liberia’s Solicitor general, and they are going to work on a pro-bono basis.

If they don’t recover anything, the Government of Liberia will not give them one cent, But they have promised to recover all the stolen funds that they have taken out of Liberia.

Meanwhile, Cllr. Syrenus Cephas has said those criticizing the current administration are doing so because they are no more in authority.

He further branded critics of the Weah government of betrayers who are sitting on the fan, and are refusing to help in fixing what he calls the damaged system.

The Solicitor general further stated that failure of critics to proffer ideas for possible solution will compare those in authority to stir the affairs of the state at their will and pleasure.

Those that are saying all kinds of things about the Government are the same people yesterday who supported the system that kept us down.

You cannot sit on the fans and help the system; you need to join us and let’s work together.

If you continue to sit on the fans and giving false information, than, we will continue to rule you they way will want and nothing you will do about it.
