Liberia’s First Lady calls for concerted effort to tackle malaria

Monrovia-Liberia’s First Lady Clar Weah has warned citizens against using the insecticidal mosquito nets provided them for bathing and fishing purposes.

Reports suggest that Liberians in some rural parts of the country are using mosquito nets for bathing and fishing purposes.

The Liberian First Lady made the plea, when she officially launched the distribution of mosquito nets for Liberians at programs commemorating World Malaria day Wednesday.

She added that the provision of the mosquito nets was an effort by government and partners intended to calm the further spread of malaria in the country.

According to her, it was time for the gesture to be utilized fully as a way of commending the donors.
