According to him, it is unfortunate to see a government that is seeking international assistance for development and yet its officials are engaged into wasteful spending.

George Wesner, an executive of the opposition Unity Party whose comment is in reaction to a FrontPage Africa’s lead story that unveiled that the Finance Minister, Samuel Tweh spent sixteen thousand United States dollars to upgrade his flight also noted that such action amounts to corruption.

“What is happening now is not corruption anymore, it it looting the state coffers and its playing on the suffering masses in this Country. It is not fare. There is no justification or that, when people can not afford to send their children to school and a finance minister is riding $ 16,000 United States dollars flight, he said”

Wesner also views the reported fifty individuals who traveled on board to the Africa China Summit as something that does not resemble a Pro-Poor agenda.

But in defense of his Boss, Deputy Finance Minister Samora Wollokollie said the upgrading of Minister Tweh flight from Business to first class was at his own expense and not government.

He asserted that the voucher to the effect of the travel will shortly be made public while lauding the FrontPage Africa for its outstanding reportorial performance especially on critical national issues.

“We must be very clear, the travel ordinance rules are very clear that the minister of finance, minister of foreign affairs and the president, vice president, the pro-tempt and chief Justice-including the speaker are entitle to a first class. so, anything bigger than Business class, addition in the cost will be board by themselves”

Speaking via mobile phone on the OK Morning Rush on Thursday, September 6,2018, the Deputy Finance Boss intoned that Minister Tweh did not violate the Travel Ordinance as it is being reported.
