Addressing a news conference at its headquarters in Congo Town  on Sunday,  October 14,2018, Liberty Party’s Chairman Steve Zargo said since the mysterious disappearance of the huge sum of money, there has been a stream of uncoordinated utterances embedded with lies and distortions of information among officials of the CDC government.

According to Zargo, the emergence of the CDC government has appeared not to only revive but to also elevate the nightmare Liberians had experienced with corruption during past regimes.

“The CDC led administration has produced the biggest financial scandal ever in the history of this country; surrounding what appears to be the disappearance in thin air of   more than 15 Billions Liberian dollars. The news has consume the attention of the global community. This has happened at the time when our Country has gone through many yers of unpleasant history punctuated by immaturity poverty, disease and very low out put of our educational system, he said.”

Commenting further, the Liberty Party Chairman also frowned at assertions by CDC’s Chairman Mulbah Morlu that the LP must be investigated for bringing in fleet of vehicles during the 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections.

“Mr. Morlu has now opinion that because Liberty party brought in fleet of vehicles during the campaign, the party must be a subject of an investigation, isn’t this an irony?

Well Mr. Morlu, we do not have the authority to order the printing of bank notes, we do not control the port of entry. how than could we have taken portion of more than your fifteen billion Liberian dollars  to buy pickups?

By your attack on the Liberty party, you have now clearly resuscitated the questions of legitimacy, ” Zargo said.

He stated “if Chairman Morlu is looking for culprits on the 16 billion dollars saga, he must turn himself over to the international investigators regarding his statements released to the public in recent time.”

Chairman Steve Zargo further indicated that CDC as a party that rode on what he called the back of rigged election should not be provoking the Liberty Party that was victimized in the previous election.
