Monrovia,Liberia-The Wife of Liberian President George Weah has pleaded with the Confederation of African Football, CAF, and partners to provide support towards grass root sports development programs in Liberia.
Clar Weah said such program would teach the importance of the game to both boys and girls, at the ages of six and seven.
The Liberian first lady was speaking Tuesday, at the ever women soccer symposium taking place in the Moroccan City of Marrakech .
The symposium, organized by CAF is aimed at improving the standards of women football.
Madam Weah said grassroot sports development programs were also important for building great national soccer teams.
She told the gathering of female football enthusiasts her sadness over Liberia’s long struggle for a well prepared national team without breakthrough.
According to her, she is determined to helping the country overcome the challenge so that Liberia can once again be force to reckon with in the sports arena.
Prior to her departure for Morocco , the First Lady said she wants Liberia children gain hope through sports was the case with her husband President George Weah.
