Grand Bassa County has been crowned Kickball Champions of the 2017/2018 edition of the National County sports meet.
The win is Grand Bassa first achievement in kickball since the establishment of the nation’s biggest sports festival in 2005.
The Gbezon girls of Bassa defeated Kwaduboni girls of Nimba County 2-1 home runs on Sunday at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville City, to claim the trophy.
In the 3rd place match of the Kickball category, Margibi County also whipped Grand Cape mount 3-1 home runs to be crowned 3rd place champions.
Margibi and Grand Bassa County earlier met at the Dorris Williams Sports pitch in Buchana during the group stage of this year’s county sports meet which saw both county kickball teams qualified to the next stage of the competition.
