Former LBA Secretary General Fred Prat Is Died

Mr. Prat’s death was announced on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, by the Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) during the afternoon hours.

Mr. Pratt was a dedicated and influential figure in Liberian basketball, whose contributions to the sport will be long remembered.

Though the cause of his death has not been revealed, his commitment and passion left a lasting impact on the basketball community.

The Liberian basketball icon was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) during the 2024 awards ceremony.

He also served as Secretary General of the Liberia National Olympics Committee for several years before his demise.

The Liberia Basketball Association (LBA) has described his demise as a huge loss to the game, adding that Mr. Prat was an innovative personality in basketball.

The late Prat played basketball before serving as referee and later rose to the secretary general position.
