Mighty Barrolle youngster Anthony S. Quadri was a joy to watch during the 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet basketball component held at the SKD gym in Paynesville City.
The National County Sports Meet is an annual event organized by the government of Liberia through the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Internal Affairs as a means of bringing people together to foster peace, unity, and reconciliation.
This year’s edition was under the theme “Inclusive Development Through Sports.”. It featured three disciplines: football, kickball, and basketball.

The youngster’s overwhelming performance earned him two individual prizes at the climax of the tournament and also handed Lofa County its first title since the county’s establishment in 1964 during former President Williams VS Tubman Western Province.
The policy saw Lofa, Nimba, Bong, and Grand Gedeh being established the same year.
The Rollers Super Star, who was part of their squad in the 2024 edition of the Road to BALL, won the highest scorer and the Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards.
As a means of encouragement, the organizers and their partners present to him twenty thousand Liberian dollars for each of the awards.
Because of his instrumentality, Lofa won every match in the competition, including their group matches; Gbarpolu County fell, but they came from behind in the rest of the matches to win all.
During the grand final on Saturday, February 1, 2025, almost the entire gym was very quiet after Sinoe took control of the match in the opening two quarters. In the two quarters combined, Sinoe led Lofa by a 17-point margin, but Lofa took them in the third quarter, ending with 50-49 points before completing their showdown with 65-61 points in the fourth quarter to end the County trophy drought.
This defeat was Sinoe’s second to Lofa in this year’s competition after losing 53-50 in zonal.
At the climax of the match, Lofians could not hold back their feelings as they staged a huge celebration on the court while the famous Lofa County meet song, “We Ready oo,” was at its peak.
As champions, the organizers and their partners again presented six hundred thousand Liberian dollars to Lofa County and a trophy as appreciation.
On the other hand, the defeated finalists, Sinoe County, were given four hundred thousand Liberian dollars, while 3rd place winner, Grand Gedeh County, took home two hundred thousand Liberian dollars.
