Paris FC Crowned Champions of 2025 LFA 3rd Division Playoffs, Earn Promotion to Second Division
Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County—Grand Gedeh County-based Paris FC have fixed their name into Liberian football history by winning the 2025 Liberia Football Association (LFA) National 3rd Division Playoffs.
The club emerged champions after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Margibi County’s SUSA FC in the grand final held at the Albert T. White Sports Pitch in Zwedru City on Sunday, June 29, 2025.

The thrilling encounter brought an end to weeks of intense competition, with Paris FC’s triumph earning them automatic promotion to the Second Division for the 2025/2026 league season.
They are joined by Golden Dream FC of Montserrado County and SUSA FC, who secured promotion as the runners-up of the tournament.

This milestone marks a historic achievement for Paris FC as they become the first club from Grand Gedeh County to win the LFA 3rd Division Playoffs and secure a spot in the second tier of Liberian football.
The victory has sparked celebrations across the county and renewed regional interest in the growth and development of football in southeastern Liberia.

However, while the promotion brings excitement, it also raises concerns among local football enthusiasts. A pressing question on the lips of many is, will Paris FC maintain their newly earned Second Division status or opt to sell their slot, as several previously promoted clubs have done in the past?

In recent years, it has become a growing trend for clubs that qualify for higher divisions to sell their slots, often due to financial or logistical constraints. This practice has drawn criticism from fans and stakeholders who believe it undermines the spirit of fair competition and development.

Nonetheless, there is optimism that Paris FC could follow in the footsteps of Sinoe NPA, who made history by becoming the first team from Southeastern Liberia to qualify for the Second Division and successfully maintain their status.

The precedent set by Sinoe NPA has inspired hope that Paris FC will remain competitive and committed to representing Grand Gedeh on the national stage.

As preparations begin for the 2025/2026 LFA Second Division League, fans across the Southeast and beyond will be watching closely to see how Paris FC navigates the challenges and opportunities that come with playing at a higher level. Their success story, if sustained, could signal a new era for football development in Liberia’s rural counties.
