Shaita Angels To Boycott LFA League If

Shaita Angels FC President Benita Urey says her club will not honor any LFA League match where ambulances or emergency vehicles are not available.

In her Facebook post on Monday, March 3, 2025, Miss Urey said her claim is in keeping with the rules and regulations of the 2024/2025 League, which state that the LFA shall keep an emergency vehicle or an ambulance and a crew on standby at match venues.

But during the quarterfinals of the 2024/2025 Orange Cup between Shaita Angels FC and Determine Girls at the Tusa Field on March 1, 2025, two of Shaita Angels players, Francisca Howe and Esther Massalay, collapsed on the pitch, but there was no ambulance or emergency vehicle to rush the players to a nearby hospital for treatment.

However, Shaita Angels went on to lose 4-3 on a post-match penalty to Determine Girls after a 0-0 draw on the field of play.

Determine Girls coach Robert Lartey, the happiest man of the moment in conversation with journalists, said he experienced a bit of relief, which put him on the path of archiving his mandate by winning both the national league and the Orange Cup.

According to him, he was given a mandate by the club to win both trophies, adding that a defeat could have caused him a serious problem in archiving his goals.

In all fairness, I must give God the glory; had that 5th penalty been scored by the Shaita Angels, by now, things were going to be very difficult, but missing that decisive one brought us back, Coach Lartey said.”.

In other results, Ravia Angels whitewashed Earth Angels 5-0 to book their semifinal slot, as Senior Female Professionals also defeated Bassa Girls 5-1 to also confirm their semifinal space, while World Girls got better off Stages Queens on penalties.

In the men’s category of the Orange Cup, Watanga FC needed a 4-3 post match penalty against Garnersville FC to book semifinal space after a 1-1 regulation time of played, while Blackman Warrior walloped Jubilee FC 7-1.

According to fixture, Determine Girls will meet Senior Female Professional in the semifinal while World Girls and Ravia Angels meet in the other semifinal.
