Son of veteran journalist Momo Siryon, Ansu Siryon gives Total Football Academy important wins in the LFA grassroots league.

5 years old Ansu Siryon of Total Football Academy takes the SKD practice pitch by storm on Saturday as his efforts resulted in a 2-1 win.

The young lad was voted the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the U-8 category match between Total Football Academy of Lone Star Interim Coach Thomas Kojo and GSA Road Young Star in the ongoing LFA Grassroots Festival Tournament at the SKD Practice Pitch.

His goal has been classified as one of the most impressive and wanted goals of the competition.

The game ended 2-1 in their favor after his individual effort as he placed the ball in the upper left angle of the goal post as the entire stadium went wild with jubilation.

His soccer display is now the most talking point branding it as one of the most justifiable reasons why Liberian Football Stakeholders should begin rebuilding from the grassroots level.

Meanwhile, there have been several calls from sports experts, some sports journalists, and some football stakeholders for Liberians to begin rebuilding from the grassroots level.

According to many of them, the current breed of players have failed the country, something they should see as reason to redirect their efforts to grassroots to save the image of the country and avoid continues poor performance in international competitions.

It can be recalled, after losing a place in the 2025 African Nations Cup poised to take place in Morocco, Liberia has again bid farewell to the 2025 African Nations Championship squarely for locally based players.

It follows after a 4-1 aggregate defeat to Senegal in round two of the qualifiers.

The first leg ended 1-1 in Liberia on December 22 but the Liberian nation’s pride and joy were beaten 3-0 over the weekend in Darkar, Senegal in the second leg as more concerns continue to be raised with the national team’s consistent poor performance.
