Lofa County wins the 2024/2025 National County Sports Meet football version following a hard-earned 2-1 win over Grand Gedeh in the grand final on Sunday, February 1, 2025, at SKD for the second time since the county’s establishment in 1964.
Emmanuel Flomo’s early minutes opener and Francis Doe’s second half goal were enough as Lofa County put behind their last edition nightmare against Rivergee.
During the last season, Rivergee equalized on Lofa in the 88th minute to end the game 2-2 in regulation before winning on penalties.

The Wologizi boys have all reasons to celebrate following a scared Grand Gedeh tartical display. The Grand Gedeans had the majority of the ball possession and created the highest number of goal-scoring chances.
They even had a penalty missed by Daniel Moah, who scored the equalizer in the first half.
However, this match will go down in history as one of the most entertaining and most competitive county meet finals based on the display of younger talents.
Earlier, one of the sponsors, Winners Incorporated, announced 2 million Liberian dollars for football champions, while the runner-ups will take home one million Liberian dollars as the 3rd place winner walks away with 500,000 (five hundred thousand Liberian dollars).
For their part, Margibi County won 3rd place after winning 3-1 against Maryland as Grand Bassa County crowned Champions in the Kickball component with a 5-1 home run over Grand Kru in the final.
Bong County defeated Grand Gedeh 7-0 in home runs to win 3rd place in kickball.
Meanwhile, Lofa County dominated individual awards as teenager Emmanuel Flomo scooped both Top Scorer and MVP, while Coach Kollie Korvy and Junior Yeanay took home Best Coach and Best Goalkeeper awards as Alexander Curtis won Best Defender.
On the other hand, Grand Gedeh County’s Nuch Zohn wins the Young Player award.
