Liberia U-19 and 17 Women’s Handball Teams To Participate In International Championship

Liberia’s under-19 and 17 women’s handball teams have started preparation ahead of the upcoming International Handball Federation Championship. The competition is poised to take place in Ivory Coast, featuring eight countries.

They include host Ivory Coast, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, Benin, Ghana, Togo, and Burkina Faso. The championship, according to IHF, will run from April 20-25 of next month. The Liberian technical team has since gathered what it believed to be a winnable.

However, the president of the Liberia National Handball Federation, Aratus Larkpor, has earlier promised to take handball to another level in Liberia. Mr. Larkpor said as part of their quest to rebrand the game in Liberia, they have identified high school championships and community tournaments as cardinal means of taking the sport to another level.
